Our business is changing at an incredible pace. Unprecedented acquisition activity is altering the face of the traditional generic industry; consolidation among purchasers is entrenching a global supply chain and distribution network; specialty drugs and biosimilars are accounting for increasing shares of pharmaceutical sales; and the expansion of healthcare in developing regions of the world is creating new and exciting marketplaces.

2015 was an eventful year for the generic pharmaceutical sector. We saw an extraordinary number of healthcare and drug-related bills introduced in Congress and state legislatures, a high level of merger and acquisition activity, and unprecedented focus on drug prices. We also saw several generic records eclipsed, including the number of prescriptions dispensed and the healthcare savings achieved through generic drug use.
 

Now more than ever before we need to tell our story and define our own narrative, more in-depth and across a broader base of engaged stakeholders than in the past. Why? Because when election-year rhetoric stops, and the next phase of health policy making begins in earnest, we need to ensure that our members are positioned on the right side of the ledger...
