WASHINGTON (August 28, 2026) — The Association for Accessible Medicines today commented on the announcement by Somerset Pharma, LLC, a member of AAM, on the expansion of their New Jersey manufacturing facilities to increase domestic capacity and expand their product lineup to include nasal spray medicines.
“Somerset Pharma and AAM members are committed to working with the President and his administration to strengthen our pharmaceutical supply chain, increase domestic manufacturing of critical medicines, and encourage policies that will help more American patients have access to more cost-saving generic and biosimilar medicines,” said John Murphy III, President and CEO of the Association for Accessible Medicines. “Somerset’s investment and commitment to domestic manufacturing and expansion of their lineup of medicines is fueled by a deeper commitment to helping American patients and to a stronger more resilient domestic supply chain.”
Dr. Aman Trehan, AAM board member and Chief Growth Officer of Somerset Pharma highlighted their investment as a key milestone for the company, “This milestone represents more than an expansion of our manufacturing footprint. Somerset joins fellow AAM members in their commitment to domestic manufacturing and U.S. investment. Last week, Amneal announced the expansion of end-to-end biosimilars development with new facilities in Chicago and New Jersey. Last year, Hikma announced the groundbreaking of a new facility in Ohio and expansion of facilities in Ohio and New Jersey. Amphastar announced an expansion of its California facilities that will quadruple their production within five years. Lupin announced investments of $250 million to build a new manufacturing facility in Florida.
